WHAT SHOULD BE INSIDE OF THIS FILES?

There are three types of files: homes, communities and plot plans. Home the model in dwg form with options. Community is the actually dwg file containing all available sites. Plot plan the dwg of actual plot plan data from engineer with elevations, home placement and options.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR HOME FILES?

Supported geometry types: lines, polylines, arcs (but they might be simplified to lines in some tools). Home drawing must consist of at least 2 layers: Base and Garage (names are mandatory). Base represents main part of home, Garage represents garage. By default, garage should be positioned on the right side of the house. Home may also contain additional options – optional parts of house that can be toggled on/off. Each option should have its own separate layer. Option names are up to your choice. But options that are parts of garage should contain word Garage. And garage doors detection only supports layers that contain Car Front Entry Garage, Car Side Entry Garage, 4ft Garage Extension, 6ft Garage Extension. Options that represents front door of a house should be grouped by name Elevation in base settings.

WHAT ABOUT COMMUNITIES?

Supported geometry types: lines, arcs, polylines, text. Other geometry may be visible in viewer but won’t be recognized by the application. Community should be bounded with a rectangle layered Boundary. Lots should be layered as Lot Lines. Lot setbacks – Lot X Setback. Each lot setback must have it's own layer. Each lot also must have a text with words LOT X. Text rotation shows us front of the lot. Driveways must be gathered by a layer named Driveways. Everything inside Lot Lines is considered as grass. Driveways and everything else – asphalt. If you want to texture specific area as grass you need to simply create a hatch with layer Grass there. You can define elevation points by placing text to drawing with content XXX.XX and layer Elevations.

WHAT ABOUT PLOT PLAN?

Supported geometry types are the same as for communities. It also applies to bounding rectangle and elevations. Lot setback should be layered as Setback or Lot X Setback Driveway – Driveway Walkway to entrance – Drivewalk Home should be layered exactly like base model – Base, Garage and all other options should have separate layers named similar to corresponding layers in base model. Any text that you want to be able to turn on/off should have layer Text. And if you want something to be hidden in viewer, layer it as Hidden
